BREAKING BAD: A lesson!

Breaking Bad is one of the finest TV shows ever produced, with a rating of 9.4/10 on 1.5 million votes on IMDB. The show was aired from 2008 till 2013. The story revolves around a chemistry teacher named Walter White, who gets diagnosed with lungs cancer but does not have the resources to finance his treatment, so he starts making methamphetamine with his former student, and the story builds up later on,

Today I want to share an important lesson I learned throughout the series. Do what you are good at. Walter White also said these lines towards the ending of the season, "I did it for me. I liked it, I was good at it, and I was really... I was alive."

Link for the above line:

Over here, I am not emphasizing to do illegal things as Walter White did, but he was doing what he was the best at. The product he made was the purest among his competitors. I have seen many people around me studying or doing what they do not want to, but they do it either for the sake of making money or because of their parents and society. This also includes some of my close friends. I believe that if a person does something they want to do, they'll have the successes of all the world, and they'll not fear anyone. Walter White was also passionate about his work and didn't let the fear of being caught come in the way of his work. So, we should also kill all of our fears and follow our passion.

I know many people, who when they start chasing their goals, think about, "log kia sochein ge." So there is a line I read somewhere I don't know where exactly, but it is this:

"log Kia sochein ge,

ham bi ye sochein ge to

log kia sochein ge"

It is clear from the above lines that we should not pay heed to what people think about us and our careers and should do what we want to do in our lives.

I believe there is a lot of negative energy around us, but the way we tackle it matters a lot. I want to give my own example. When I started studying chemistry at the undergraduate level as a complete degree, many of the people around me commented that "Kia kro ge ye parh ke, ismei to koi future hi nae ha." At first, I used to rethink my decision, but now I face those comments with pride, and I own my work, and I appreciate myself for doing what I do, for following the passion I pursue.

This is the only thing I have shared from the concept of this series. This series has a lot more things. If you haven't watched it till now, put it on your list. You will not regret watching it.

Curtir

yessss! our culture is so heavly based on "log kya kahengay" that barely any of us are comfortable enough in our own skin and our own wants. plus that's all we're told growing up by our parents and teachers kay ye na kero kiunke log kya kahengay, instead of encouraging us to follow our hearts and do what makes us happy

I LOVEEEE this!

Curtir

So true! And I'm really glad that you are able to do what you love and I wish you all the best for it, but the reasons you mentioned that serve as obstacles for people, maybe sometimes they're so overpowering that people just lose confidence in themselves. But this was really motivating!
